McLaren Strategic Solutions is seeking a Senior Business Consultant with deep expertise in enterprise access governance and BI platform enablement.
This role will lead a high-visibility engagement to design and implement a scalable access control framework across the client's business intelligence (BI) platforms, primarily Power BI. The role is critical to aligning identity strategy, data governance, and business enablement — ensuring secure, persona-aligned access to business intelligence tools while driving operational maturity and cross-functional adoption.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver an enterprise-wide, role-based access governance model aligned to business personas, data products, and compliance needs.
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing access roles and legacy permissions within Power BI; rationalize structures and map to a standardized role taxonomy.
- Standardize the development of tiered Active Directory group strategies and directory synchronization practices across Windows AD, Azure AD, and Access Now.
- Define and document integrated access request workflows, including provisioning standards, automation triggers, and governance checkpoints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from IT, Security, BI, and Governance to embed access controls into broader data and identity strategies.
- Produce high-impact enablement deliverables, including access playbooks, user training guides, onboarding materials, and KPI dashboards.
- Support integration between Collibra and Access Now to operationalize governed access request flows.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of experience in business consulting, enterprise data governance, or identity and access management (IAM).
- Proven expertise in implementing role-based access frameworks within BI platforms (Power BI preferred).
- Strong familiarity with identity systems such as Windows Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Access Now.
- Demonstrated experience simplifying complex access environments, mapping legacy permissions, and defining governance tiers.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across different functions.
- Experience creating enterprise documentation such as governance frameworks, access standards, and training assets.
- Experience with Collibra or other data governance platforms is highly desirable.
- Background in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare)
- Familiarity with security, audit, and compliance standards
- Knowledge of data product frameworks and persona-driven access modeling.
