The role involves responding to incidents, performing in-depth analysis, resolving complex issues, and escalating problems to higher-level support when necessary.
This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset.Key Responsibilities• Proactively monitor server health, performance, and system logs to detect anomalies or performance degradation using monitoring tools.• Analyze and troubleshoot server issues to identify root causes and resolve them promptly.• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for significant incidents and outages and document findings to improve incident resolution times.• Act as a critical point of contact for server-related incidents, providing detailed updates to stakeholders, including end-users and senior management.• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.• Collaborate with other teams (e.g., L3 engineers, database administrators, and network specialists) to resolve complex issues.• Identify recurring issues and provide insights for long-term solutions.• Respond to alerts related to server issues, including CPU, memory, disk, network utilisation, and availability.Key Qualifications• 1-2 years of experience in IT server administration, support, or monitoring.• Experience in Windows Server OS and Linux will be an addon• Familiarity with AWS, SQL, Splunk or other troubleshooting tools• Understanding network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).• Experience with server monitoring tools• Proven experience in incident management and troubleshooting server-related issues.Working Conditions• Full-time position with occasional on-call support, especially during critical incidents or maintenance windows.• Shift work may be required to ensure 24/7 server monitoring and support (rotational shift)
