Role Description
Laser TechnicianFull Time (On-site), HourlyM-F, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Job Summary
We're seeking a talented individual to fill a unique position that bridges the worlds of Image Engineering and Image SFX. The laser technician is a hands-on position involved in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our extensive Class IV laser fleet. As part of a cross-functional team, this person will be responsible for optical alignment, cleaning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and electronic repair of laser equipment. This person should have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience in troubleshooting, and basic electronics knowledge.
Experience with lasers is a plus, but not required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Follow detailed verbal and/or written instructions, as well as diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents to diagnose and repair laser equipment
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform rework as needed
- Complete preventative maintenance as needed
- Report manufacturing defects in a product line
- Maintain the tools used to service lasers
- Assist with parts stock organization
- Complete service documentation and maintain equipment reports
- Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace
- Follow company procedures and directives
Requirements
- Ability to comprehend detailed verbal or written instructions, as well as wire diagrams/ schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents critical to repair and maintenance
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems
- Aptitude for electronics and eye for detail
- Familiarity with schematics and basic circuit structure
- Experience with hand tools
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods
