Job Summary
We’re looking for an inspirational Assistant Director to help lead our Hollywood location. Our Assistant Center Directors provide leadership to our educators which enables the best child experience at our centers. We’re looking for a servant leader who can build relationships with and inspire our teachers while also partnering with Operations and the People team to ensure the success of the center.
As an Assistant Director you Will:
- Creating staffing schedules and approve PTO requests for center staff in partnership with the Center Director
- Coach and develop a team of motivated teachers and our center experience team in support of our centers
- Provide in-classroom support and model the Brella Basics for engagement, curriculum and parent/co-teacher communications
- Participate in hiring and onboarding processes with the Center Director and in partnership with Brella’s People Team
- Support the Center Director in assessing and conducting center staff performance evaluations (2x/year)
- Support child success plans and navigate challenging family conversations
- Provide school tours with prospective families as needed
- Support administrative needs at the center including staff file maintenance
- Manage inventory, ordering, and supplies for the center.
- Maintain knowledge of Title 22 requirements along with Brella’s policies
- Open and close the center as needed during Brella’s operating hours, serving as Center Director in their absence
- Ensure adherence to health, safety and licensing requirements
- Collaborate with the Center Experience Team to support family bookings and questions
Experience, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Be a fully qualified infant care teacher plus 3 units in Early Childhood Education Administration (Required)
- A BA or BS in Early Childhood Education or related field (Preferred)
- Proven ECE leadership experience as a Director or Assistant Director (1 year Preferred) or a seasoned Lead teacher.
- Strong skills in collaboration, conflict resolution and communication with teachers and parents with an interest in understanding needs and perspectives
- Knowledge and interest in developmentally appropriate practices as well as an understanding of or familiarity with Reggio, Montessori, and/or RIE principles
- A solutions-focused and creative approach to problem solving
- Interest in innovation within the child care model and a passion to develop a more flexible child care solution
- Excellent organization skills and working knowledge of Title 22 licensing requirements for Early Childhood Education
- Comfort using technology
Physical Demands
- Demonstrate full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, walk, bend and otherwise fully participate in activities. Standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to physically handle children between 0-5 years of age using appropriate techniques. Ability to lift children up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.
- Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
- Follow state, federal and Brellas' guidelines regarding immunizations, employment physical, and required health and safety training and practices.
