Description
The Finance and Accounting Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the local finance and accounting functions in Gabon. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, statutory deliverables, and supporting business operations in alignment with local regulations and corporate standards. · Lead all accounting activities for local entities in compliance with OHADA and IFRS standards.· Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete reporting in line with corporate requirements.· Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.· Oversee the preparation of annual statutory financial statements and ensure timely submission of VAT, corporate tax filings, royalties, and other tax obligations.· Manage joint venture (JV) and government reporting requirements, including Joint Interest Billing (JIB), entitlement calculations, and lifting schedules.· Lead and coordinate all finance-related audits (Tax, JV, Customs, Cost Oil), ensuring readiness and timely responses.· Supervise and develop the local finance and accounting team, promoting collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement.· Maintain and enforce strong internal controls over finance and accounting operations.· Support physical inventory counts and accounting from a financial reporting perspective.
· Develop and implement finance, accounting, and tax procedures to drive operational efficiency and compliance.· Review and process all payments to government entities, ensuring appropriate documentation and internal approvals are in place.· Build and maintain effective working relationships with key local authorities and stakeholders.· Support the implementation of the company’s financial strategy at the country level.· Prepare internal and external presentations, including annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.· Drive initiatives to improve departmental performance, including the adoption of new tools and technologies to streamline workflows.· Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting policies and processes to strengthen operational efficiency.· Represent the company in financial matters with external stakeholders, as delegated by the Country Manager.· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Requirements
Education
- Master’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Certification in Accounting highly preferred
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with audit firms and multinational Oil and Gas companies in the Upstream segment.

- Fluent in French and English (oral and written)
- Very good understanding of Gabon’s Tax Law and regulations
