Our Content team is committed to creating high-quality technical interview questions that are used to assess engineering talent around the world. Working in various technical domains, we produce new interview questions (known internally as "content") on a weekly basis and are responsible for the writing, testing, publishing, and monitoring of all Karat content.

What you will do


As a Staff Content Development Engineer at Karat, you will develop high-quality technical interview questions to update Karat’s technical content library for modern AI-enabled engineering workflows across engineering role types (data science, software engineering, etc.). You will also serve as the most senior representative of Content Development in cross-functional content prioritization discussions, upholding Karat’s interview content standards through peer reviews, mentorship, and feedback integration.

We are looking to hire this position out of Bangalore, 


India


. Working hours will predominantly be IST with required internal meetings that align with timezones in the U.S.


  • Own continuous process and system improvements in Content's leveraging of AI solutions.
  • Partner with Content and Product stakeholders in content prioritization exercises.
  • Use your engineering knowledge to produce Karat’s most complex interview content, including the creation of extensive codebases and objective design exercises.
  • Partner with our Content Designers in the development of new content formats which enable candidates to leverage generative AI during their interviews.
  • Author new technical interview questions in a variety of subject domains, leveraging modern technology, including generative AI.
  • Mentor Karat's growing team of Content Development Engineers through peer reviews of content developments, ensuring all content is at a consistent standard.
  • Integrate feedback and iterate on content based on performance data and feedback from the Content Corrections team.

The experience you will bring


Required:


  • 7+ of post-academic experience as a software engineer, with demonstrated ability to program in a common programming language
  • Professional working experience using Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or another agentic AI solution for software development
  • Experience working remotely with global teams 
  • Fluent, concise English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience operating independently with high-output and strict deadlines

Preferred and/or a Plus:


  • Experience conducting technical interviews
  • Project, product, or program management experience
  • High-growth, quick change startup experience
