Reports to: Director of Finance Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountantto join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent numerical skills, and a passion for sustainability. As an Accountant at Carbon Upcycling Technologies, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and supporting our mission to revolutionize carbon utilization.Key Responsibilities:

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including daily transactions, invoices, payments, and receipts.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records and identify discrepancies.

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Expense Management: Monitor and manage company expenses, ensuring adherence to budget and financial policies.

  • Asset Management: Assist in posting, evaluating, and managing assets and inventory records

  • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, supplying necessary documentation and information.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Financial Analysis: Assist in financial analysis and budgeting processes, providing insights and recommendations for financial planning.

Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Knowledge:

  •  Familiarity with sustainability and carbon utilization industries is a plus.
