Network Engineer II Job Description
TitleNetwork Engineer IIDescriptionAs a Network Engineer II the person is expected to participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) operating independently on low-medium visibility engagements, with oversight on medium-high visibility efforts. The person is expected to have depth in one technical area with breadth across 2 or more technical areas with around 10 years of experience in the fields.Please note that this is a full-time, direct-hire role.

This role is for agrowing engineer to support large highly visible projects with a Baltimore area-based large national client with international multi-year projects. Must be able to travel internationally. Some occasional travel (about 1 week at a time) will be
required
both internationally and to our Kansas City Integration Center.
Responsibilities
- Supports projects as a Subject Matter Expert operating independently on low-medium visibility engagements, with oversight on medium-high visibility efforts with minimal day-to-day direction and complies with the BlueAlly quality of delivering services
- Serve as a Technical/Delivery Lead on engagements of up to 1-2 people or lead dedicated parts of engagements with oversight from the overall technical lead
- Able to create technical written documents (e.g., RFP response content, design and deployment deliverables) independently and accurately, with limited grammatical mistakes.
- Escalation of project impacting issues to the Delivery Directors or other appropriate leadership
Position Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in a relevant technology area
- Able to understand specific, tangible client business requirements and with guidance, propose a technical solution.
- Able, with collaboration, to determine that a technical solution will meet specific client business requirements
- Can provide and link data in support of translating technical value into business benefits and ROI.
- Able to support, with senior engineer guidance, the creation and delivery of presentations on specific technologies to technical-to-mid level client stakeholders. Confident speaking to up to 5 clients.
- Able to comprehend project and financial information from our financial system and with guidance, compare/align to forecast(s).
- Consistently maintains one’s own forecast on respective efforts and reviews/directs team members to do so on engagements when serving as the delivery lead and/or project manager.
- Able to cover Project Management if/as necessary on small efforts
Education
- Must have at least one, current CCNP level certification
- Bachelor's or above/equivalent
It would be great if you also had
- Experience with Network Source of Truth (NSOT) solutions like NetBox
- Experience with Python, Ansible, or other network automation tools
- Experience with Cisco firewalls, especially Cisco ASA or Firepower
- Experience with network overlays (GRE)
- Experience with Call Manager Express (CME)
- Experience deploying AAA solutions like Cisco ISE or Aruba Clearpass for TACACS/RADIUS
- Experience with the Linux operating system (Ubuntu)
- Strong network troubleshooting skills
Work Conditions
- 40-hour week and availability for off-hours work as required based on the project
- Location: Hybrid. Some project phases will allow more remote work, others are more heavily onsite with little to no remote work (4-5 days during customer training and lab testing) at various phases on the project in Elkridge, MD
- Some travel expected - to international customer destinations and our integration center (travel expected to be no more than one week at a time)
