We’re at the forefront of the clean energy transition—delivering innovative solutions in energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability.We’re seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Senior Manager of Utility Solutions to lead the design and delivery of residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) demand-side management (DSM) programs. This role is ideal for a builder—someone ready to challenge the status quo, shape new delivery models, and drive innovation across clean energy sectors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the daily performance of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring alignment with program goals, timelines, and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utility clients and partners, building trust and long-term relationships.
- Mentor and develop internal teams, institutionalizing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain program performance, productivity, and internal reports as needed.
- Use data and performance metrics to guide decision-making and optimize program delivery.
- Identify opportunities to expand MDEA’s offerings across decarbonization, electrification, and sustainability.
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure program compliance.
- Contribute to strategic planning, product development, and long-term business growth.
- Represent MDEA at industry events, client meetings, and internal leadership forums.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A builder’s mindset—you’re energized by creating, improving, and scaling.
- 5+ years of experience managing DSM or energy efficiency programs, with exposure to adjacent sectors like climate tech, sustainability consulting, or decarbonization.
- 3+ years working with residential and C&I customer segments and technologies.
- Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and manage complex client portfolios.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic thinking and operational discipline, with a track record of aligning program goals with business outcomes.
- Familiarity with utility regulatory frameworks and energy policy.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Located in Baltimore/DC/MD metro areas
- Industry certifications (CEM, CEA, CMVP, PMP, etc.).
- Experience with Maryland’s energy efficiency market.
- Data analysis and visualization skills.
- High emotional intelligence and executive presence.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily remote with:
- Quarterly in-person meetings in Baltimore
- 4–5 local DMV-area meetings per month
