Position Overview


Chartis Federal is seeking a Senior Human Resources Specialist to provide high-quality federal retirement and benefits counseling, case processing, and issue resolution for our customer’s 66,000+ employees. This position requires a strong background in federal HR operations, retirement programs, and employee communications. Requirements

  • Provide expert counseling to employees regarding retirement eligibility, annuity estimates, service computation dates, and benefits options under CSRS, CSRS Offset, FERS, FEHB, FEGLI, TSP, and Social Security.
  • Prepare and process retirement application packages, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with OPM requirements.
  • Address and resolve complex benefits and retirement cases, including post-56 military deposits and disability retirements.
  • Collaborate with the customer’s HR leadership and other federal agencies to manage retirement workflows and benefits case progression.
  • Maintain and update electronic records in systems such as ServiceNow, NFC, and Salesforce.
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to benefits-related inquiries from employees, retirees, and family members.
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–10 years of federal HR experience, with specific expertise in retirement and benefits programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal benefits regulations, policies, and systems (e.g., FedHR Navigator, NFC, OPM guidelines).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Proven administrative and case management skills with the ability to manage a high-volume workload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex benefits information clearly.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) security clearance.
