StackAdaptCanadaRemote, Onsite
StackAdapt is the leading technology company that empowers marketers to reach, engage, and convert audiences with precision. With 465 billion automated optimizations per second, the AI-powered StackAdapt Marketing Platform seamlessly connects brand and performance marketing to drive measurable results across the entire customer journey. The most forward-thinking marketers choose StackAdapt to orchestrate high-impact campaigns across programmatic advertising and marketing channels.
StackAdapt’s Advertising Technology team is seeking a highly technical and execution-focused Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead key initiatives that enhance the performance of our bidder. This individual will focus on improving performance, traffic optimization, auction dynamics, margin, and overall technical inventory initiatives by driving projects that sit at the intersection of real-time bidding, inventory signals, and data science. The ideal candidate understands how programmatic auctions work, possesses in-depth knowledge of openRTB and auction signal behaviour, and knows how to translate complex technical goals into actionable programs.

This role will require hands-on involvement in program execution, from scoping and planning to impact measurement, and will be responsible for ensuring our bidding strategy translates into measurable improvements across performance and platform health.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Drive Bidding-Focused Initiatives: Lead high-impact programs that optimize bidder performance across win rate, margin, and delivery. Develop a deep understanding of how our bidder consumes signals and orchestrate the technical workstreams to drive improvement.
  • Orchestrate Execution Across Teams: Scope and manage technical projects end-to-end, partnering with Backend Engineering, Data Science, and other internal stakeholders. Provide structure, track progress, and drive accountability to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Signal Strategy & Evaluation: Serve as a subject matter expert on openRTB signals and auction dynamics. Work with internal teams to evaluate new signals, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions that impact bidder behaviour and platform performance.
  • Measurement & Data Analysis: Define, clarify, and track success metrics across initiatives. Utilize SQL and internal data tools to analyze the impact and collaborate with Data Science to evaluate performance shifts over time.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other TPMs, Data Science, Infrastructure, and Performance Program teams to align priorities and ensure initiatives are delivered holistically. Engage with external partners only when technical strategy or escalations require deeper alignment.
  • Internal Strategy Partner: Translate top-level strategic goals into executable technical programs. Help senior leadership operationalize goals such as “improve auction competitiveness” or “increase win rate on high-value supply” by defining scope, dependencies, and timelines.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Strong knowledge of programmatic advertising, including expert-level understanding of openRTB protocol and auction signal mechanics.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in technical program management, technical operations, or similar roles within ad tech or high-scale platforms.
  • Skilled in data analysis and modelling, with a strong ability to develop scalable, insights-driven solutions.
  • Extensive experience with SQL/Python for querying and analyzing large datasets to inform decisions, validate hypotheses, and measure program impact.
  • Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional technical programs with clarity and structure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence without authority across engineering, data, and product-adjacent teams.
  • Curiosity, autonomy, and the ability to dig into how things work to uncover root causes and spot new opportunities.
