Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Risk to lead and enhance the enterprise and project-level risk management framework. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects, ideally within a consulting or PMC environment. This role will involve overseeing risk identification, analysis, mitigation planning, and governance to ensure proactive risk-based decision-making across all projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive risk management framework at both project and corporate levels.
- Lead risk identification workshops with project teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure consistent application of risk management policies, procedures, tools, and reporting standards across all projects.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of project risk registers using industry-standard tools (e.g., Primavera Risk Analysis, Active Risk Manager, etc.).
- Provide regular risk reporting to executive management, highlighting potential impacts and mitigation strategies.
- Advise senior leadership on strategic and operational risks, proposing practical, data-driven solutions.
- Coordinate risk assurance audits and maintain compliance with relevant local and international standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of risk officers or analysts, fostering a risk-aware culture throughout the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including 8+ years in risk management within large-scale infrastructure or PMC projects.
- Strong understanding of risk principles in project planning, cost, schedule, and operations.
- Proficiency in risk software such as Primavera Risk Analysis, ARM, or similar.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Professional certifications such as PMI-RMP, IRM, or similar are highly preferred.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
