Maintenance Manager

Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all installation, repair, and maintenance operations for the organization’s facilities. This role ensures that all physical resources are maintained to support operational efficiency, safety, and compliance, while adhering to budgetary constraints.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems, as well as a deep understanding of industrial maintenance practices. The position is integral to the continued functionality of manufacturing systems and facilities infrastructure, with responsibilities spanning preventive maintenance, team leadership, and strategic planning.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

  • Supervise and perform diagnosis, repair, replacement, and installation of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in plant manufacturing and support equipment.
  • Apply expertise in PLCs, AC/DC motors and drives, control logic, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques daily.
  • Identify safety and environmental risks, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NEMA, NEC, and other applicable safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve production constraints.
  • Develop and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) procedures; analyze PM completion data and implement technician feedback.
  • Oversee the maintenance budget and prepare monthly reports comparing actual expenditures against the plan.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors for specialized maintenance services; review and approve service contracts.
  • Set performance objectives for the maintenance team, conduct annual performance reviews, create improvement plans, and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Regularly assess equipment to enhance reliability and efficiency; maintain and update spare parts inventory based on lifecycle data and equipment modifications.
  • Strategically lead all plant maintenance activities with a focus on improving the design, modification, and performance of equipment and systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or completion of a vocational/technical training program in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing or industrial setting, or a 2-year technical diploma/degree.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in FDA-regulated environments with knowledge of cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards is highly desirable.

Language Skills:


  • English required, bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Physical Demands:


  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:


  • Non-temperature-controlled warehouse, non-temperature-controlled production floor, temperature- controlled office.
