About the Role
A Tax Executive is an integral part of our tax department, participating in various tax-related activities to ensure compliance and optimize our clients' tax positions. This role requires strong accounting and taxation knowledge, with experience in UK tax being an advantage. Responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of tax returns, along with conducting research on tax laws and regulations which assists senior leadership in providing valuable insights to clients.
Responsibilities
· Assist in the preparation of tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant UK tax laws and regulations.· Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and provide well-supported recommendations and solutions.· Assist in responding to enquiries and correspondence from tax authorities, including drafting letters and supporting documentation and communicating with HMRC personnel.· Stay abreast of changes in UK tax legislation and regulations.· Support the tax department in various administrative tasks, including organizing and maintaining client files and documentation.· Proactively manage and take ownership of tax engagements by treating client accounts with a sense of personal responsibility, including consistent follow-ups on project progress and ensuring timely completion and filing of deliverables.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.· Proficiency in tax software (such as OneSource, Alphatax, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to quickly learn new software applications as needed.· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.· Strong organizational skills and the ability to appropriately prioritize and manage time based on a combination of external and internal deadlines.
Qualifications
· Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.· Master’s or equivalent degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.· 1-2 years of relevant accounting/tax experience.· Proficient skills in taxation, tax accounting, and accounting in general.· Experience in UK tax would be an advantage.
Preferred UK Tax Certifications:
· Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT)· Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT)· Certified Tax Adviser (CTA)
