Job Details:
As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our bookkeeping team and serve as a key point of contact for clients. You will ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial information, mentor team members, and collaborate with partners and tax teams to support client success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of bookkeepers and staff accountants
- Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes for multiple clients
- Review financial statements, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Train, mentor, and develop staff to ensure continued growth and professional development
- Serve as the primary point of contact for select clients, fostering strong relationships
- Collaborate with tax and advisory teams to support client goals and planning
- Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in streamlining internal workflows
- Stay current on industry best practices, accounting standards, and relevant technology
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including supervisory or management experience
- Experience in a public accounting firm or multi-client environment strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger systems, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and other cloud accounting platforms (Xero, Bill.com, Gusto, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- CPA or EA designation is a plus but not required
