We are seeking a highly experienced Mainframe Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of mainframe networking, strong technical troubleshooting skills, and a collaborative mindset. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting robust and secure mainframe network systems that are critical to business continuity and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and maintain products such as Multisess, Host on Demand, IBM NetView, CA Spool, and Printer Managers.
- Design and deploy mainframe network systems using VTAM, TCP/IP, and SNA.
- Monitor and analyze network performance with tools like OMEGAMON and RMF.
- Implement and manage security protocols, including RACF policies, IP filtering, and AT-TLS encryption.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, protocol mismatches, and hardware issues.
- Develop and execute disaster recovery and failover strategies.
- Document network architecture, procedures, and change records.
- Collaborate with system programmers, DBAs, and application teams to support seamless system integration.
Requirements
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe network engineering.
- Strong expertise in network protocols (TCP/IP, SNA, VTAM).
- Proven experience with mainframe monitoring tools (e.g., OMEGAMON, RMF).
- Deep knowledge of RACF and network security best practices.
- Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability design.
- Experience in cross-platform integration and virtualized environments.
