POSITION OVERVIEW
VectorUSA is seeking an experienced Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst II to provide proactive network monitoring and technical support in a mission-critical, high-uptime environment for our client in Long Beach, CA. The ideal candidate excels at independent problem-solving, thrives on overnight or swing shifts, and demonstrates a strong foundation in networking and system administration.
This an On-site position working a schedule from Wednesday - Saturday 5:00 PM - 3:00 AM.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor, analyze, and respond promptly to network incidents, outages, and performance alerts across complex enterprise environments.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues; escalate unresolved or complex issues to higher-tier engineers when appropriate.
- Research, document, and implement mitigation strategies for recurring incidents or systemic issues.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of customer networks, technologies, and their business impact.
- Conduct routine system administration tasks, including:
- Operating system and software patching
- Automation and script execution
- Network and system connectivity testing
- Log analysis and basic troubleshooting
- Prioritize and remediate issues in a 24x7 environment to ensure critical up-time requirements are consistently met.
- Prepare accurate, clear incident and resolution documentation to support future troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with technical team members to drive continuous process improvements and enhance service delivery.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a network operations or similar technical support role.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, network hardware, and common protocols.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting enterprise network issues and system outages.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar platforms).
- Comfortable preparing and updating technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently during swing or graveyard shifts with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
PREFER QUALIFICATIONS
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
- Experience with automation, scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python), and remote system management.
- Familiarity with change management, ITSM, or ticketing systems.
- Exposure to security practices and monitoring tools preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fast-paced, dynamic team supporting 24x7 critical operations.
- Position on-site in Long Beach, CA, with schedules covering swing or overnight shifts.
- Occasional on-call or overtime work may be required to support key projects or incidents.
