Job Description
The Cook 1 is responsible for assisting with all kitchen operations to ensure daily tasks are completed. The pay range for this position is
$21.00 - $23.00
per hour, depending on experience.The schedule for this role will be
Monday: 9:30-6pm, Tuesday & Wednesday off, Thursday & Friday: 10:30am-7pm, Saturday & Sunday: 5:30am-2:00pm
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of morning, afternoon and evening meals.
- Assist with maintaining the kitchen to all Food Safety standards set by funders and The OC Health Care Agency.
- Provide food during meal times
- Assist with maintaining proper inventory of special dietary needs and supplies for the site.
- Attend all meetings and training as requested.
- Work with site staff to complete kitchen tasks as directed by the Cook/Kitchen Coordinator.
- Ensures food ingredients are stored in their designated area and rotated in the proper manner.
- Assist Cook/Kitchen Coordinator with weekly inventory as requested
- Communicate client needs to Cook/Kitchen Coordinator
- Work with and create a welcoming environment for volunteers.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
- Responsible for communicating client needs and reported complaints to direct supervisor.
- Work in alignment with the company’s Guiding Principles
- Attain the goals as set forth by management. Seek and follow management coaching toward increased productivity.
Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a restaurant or catering setting
- Some managerial/leadership experience
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to send and receive emails and summarize data in spreadsheets.
- Valid CA Driver’s License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
Preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
