At our core, we are military experts, researchers and technologists who want to accelerate intelligence to deliver strategic insights that turn future challenges into today’s opportunities.The Lead DevSecOps Engineer is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for architecting, implementing, and overseeing secure, scalable infrastructure solutions in support of complex DoD software systems. This individual leads DevSecOps initiatives across projects, mentors engineering teams, and ensures alignment with security and compliance standards. The role blends technical depth with leadership, driving best practices across the software development lifecycle—emphasizing automation, security, and continuous improvement.This position is for the on the Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Engagement Controller and Manager (BECM) program, and requires strong software integration engineering and DevSecOps experience to support integration, testing, automation, and documentation efforts in classified, highly regulated environments.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Integrate and test multiple software subsystems and external systems, identifying issues related to data exchanges, usability, functionality, safety, and/or vulnerabilities
  • Develop new automated tests and test utilities, and update code to remain compliant with updated subsystems and external systems
  • Utilize container technologies to configure deploy software to various lab and customer site environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new software
  • Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for software development and test processes
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in software testing
  • Work on classified C2 software programs within secure facilities in Sterling, VA (full-time onsite requirement)

Required Experience:


  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading DevSecOps adoption in secure, regulated environments.
  • Experience working in cross-functional software development teams.
  • Expertise in at least one major public cloud provider (AWS or GCP preferred).
  • Experience designing, implementing, and/or supporting cloud native container orchestration platforms and technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Istio, HELM, Podman, Docker, ArgoCD, Flux)
  • Experience with Python, testing frameworks like Pytest, Linux shell scripting and basic CLI tools such as grep, awk, sed, ssh, & scp, developing automation pipelines using tools such as Gitlab and Artifactory, and creating test threads, cases, and steps for SWIT and/or SIT.
  • Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Experience:


  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Certification. 
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator Certification.
  • DoD IAT Level II Security Certification (Security + CE, GSEC, SSCP, or CNNA Security). 
  • Experience with documentation tools like Swagger
  • Experience with modeling tools like Cameo
  • Experience with data integration and streaming technologies, including NiFi, Kafka, and REST APIs. 

Clearance Information:

Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
