JOB SUMMARY
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate is responsible to support Manufacturing processes by developing and producing drawings and models to facilitate manufacturing methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Review & interrogate customer 3D models to extract required dimensional information to draft engineering drawings to be used by manufacturing, inspection & suppliers.•Flatten sheetmetal aerospace parts using CATIA software•Draft drawings using autocad or similar CAD software, drawings will contain GD&T requirements, basic dimensions, notes & other requirements. •Review drawings for accuracy, revise and update drawings for customer's approval, and prepare drawings for production.•Updated drawings as necessary to facilitate manufacturing and maintain revision control to match customer engineering.•Plot full scale mylar drawings for use in manufacturing & inspection•Provide technical support and training to coworkers, customers, and suppliers.•Refine and enhance products and processes by applying continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles and techniques.•Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.•Maintain safe working practices and ensure area is clean and free of any possible unsafe situations.•Collaborate with external and internal customers, including Manufacturing and Quality Assurance staff, to resolve issues and meet customer specifications.
•Concentrate for long periods of time while tolerating regular interruptions throughout the day.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Thorough knowledge of aerospace manufacturing drawings, specifications and engineering requirements.•Working knowledge with CATIA, Autocad and / or other drafting software.•Working knowledge with GD&T & ANSI tolerancing standards•Ability to utilize CATIA flattening software to develop flat patterns•Familiar with sheet metal forming (ie. Brakeform & Hydroform)•Ability to write clear, accurate, comprehensive and concise documents, formatted to increase information accessibility and grammatically correct.•Thorough knowledge of AS9100 quality system requirements.
Familiarity of Nadcap requirements a plus.•Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.•Attention to detail.•Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.•Accepting of criticism and ability to deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations.•Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.•Ability to identify, organize, estimate and recognize differences or similarities.•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.•Ability to provide direction and guidance.•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.

We have three lines of business; Aerospace Manufacturing, Aerospace Finishing, and Business Solutions, that operate in 2 locations. Skills Inc. employs over 250 people and our social mission is to train, employ and serve persons with disabilities.
We accomplish our mission three ways; direct hire, vocational programs and services, and as a resource to the community.
Salary Range: $30.00-$45.00
