QA Analyst (Project)

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Project QA Analyst to join our multidisciplinary team. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and user experience of our immersive applications, tools, and products. Working alongside engineers, artists, designers, and producers, you’ll help ship polished, performant, and stable experiences that reach global audiences.

Responsibilities


  • Support Magnopus’ testing efforts by building and executing test sweeps, regression tests, performance analysis, and critical assessment of project elements as well as the project as a whole while interacting with the various disciplines within the larger development team
  • Participate in strategic planning for assigned projects as well as for the QA department as a whole.  Actively engage in leveling up the testing process within Magnopus and when needed, act as a knowledge expert in support of client teams who may not have familiarity with testing process and procedure
  • Support the QA Managers, QA Peers, cross disciplinary peers, and the company as a whole in delivering world class content and experiences.

Requirements


  • 4+ years working on a QA team in an Agile environment within the gaming industry.
  • Experience with testing applications using Unreal and/or Unity
  • Ability to work independently while being open to helping the department navigate a busy landscape
  • Some experience profiling performance on PC or console games
  • Solid foundation on how software is developed and and understanding of QA’s role and contribution to the development pipeline
  • Be an active and proactive creative and/or technical problem solver 

Nice to Have


  • Past experience working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience using profiling tools to profile assets within a 3D environment
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment of test builds
  • Experience remotely working on projects involved with iOS, Android, Oculus Rift, or Oculus Quest devices
  • Passion for building or learning more about VR and AR applications
  • Experience with software testing within the VFX industry
