About the Team:
The Engine Manufacturing team is dedicated to delivering high-performance engines and advancing innovative manufacturing systems that continuously improve cost, quality, and lead time. You’re not just executing on designs; you actively provide input that shapes new hardware iterations and regularly interface with engineers to make critical decisions for the Aeon R program. Having successfully developed and refined processes for our initial development engines, the team is now focused on producing flight engines at rate for Terran R’s aggressive launch manifest.
About the Role:
As a Propulsion Technician, you will be on the front line of the assembly and testing of the Aeon-R engine components, sub-assemblies and engines. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of an experienced technical team and build the skills necessary to create and refine robust component and engine building processes. This role will be focused on supporting several in-house processes and support resources such as precision cleaning, hydrostatic proof testing, flow testing, component assembly and test, and engine assembly. Please note, this is a 2nd shift with hours from 2pm - 10:30pm PT, with a 10% shift differential on top of the base rate.
About You:
- Familiarity with clean line detergents, solvents, and relevant tooling
- Experience with ultrasonic tanks and clean line processes
- Familiarity with Passivation and weld cleaning processes
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, and engineering drawings.
- Strong technical and interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong mind for safety - familiarity with proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA requirements.
Nice to haves but not required:
- Familiarity with 5S manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience transitioning from development into high-volume production
