The HVAC Technician II
is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of building automation systems, HVAC mechanical equipment, and cleanliness of assigned facility property machinery areas.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Installs, maintains and repairs heating, ventilation, air conditioning and boiler distribution equipment and systems to optimize energy use
- Installs, maintains and repairs computerized electric pneumatic and digital direct control devises related to HVAC, heat control such as fan coil units, Air Handlers, change filters, motors, belts etc...
- Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
- Perform preventative maintenance as per established preventative maintenance program and demonstrate proactive maintenance procedures.
- Respond to and complete work requests for problems with the HVAC units or systems.
- Troubleshoot and make repairs to heating and direct expansion HVAC systems, electrical wiring related to HVAC equipment, soldering or welding of Freon or water lines, replacing HVAC components of units and replacing complete HVAC units
- Participate in projects relating to the HVAC department and systems
- Participate actively in established safety programs designed to provide a safe work environment
- Maintain a parts inventory for common repairs
- Be able to enter work requests into the computerized maintenance program and print out work orders and preventative maintenance work orders
- Perform other related tasks as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of related experience, or 2 years’ experience with additional specialized training and or certificate
- Requires an EPA Certification
- Valid Driver License
- MustberegisteredwithTDLR(TexasDepartmentofLicensingand Regulation).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with chill water and hot water heating and cooling units.
- Previous experience with refrigerated chilling systems
- Previous experience directly related to direct expansion air conditioning and gas fired heating systems
- Previous experience with HVAC energy management programs and systems
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Heavy lifting, 45 to 70 lbs.
- Repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, walking, standing, sitting, crawling, twisting, pushing, stooping, climbing stairs, climbing ladders
