We are seeking a Senior Contract Specialist III to serve as both a senior acquisition professional and the site lead for an experienced team supporting a federal agency. This is a high-visibility role requiring deep expertise in cradle-to-grave federal contracting and strong skills in client relationship management and team oversight.
Please note:
While this position is remote, only candidates based in the greater Washington, DC area will be considered due to occasional in-person client meetings and team coordination requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex, full lifecycle acquisition activities in compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Serve as the primary liaison with program staff, providing strategic contracting guidance and ensuring service quality
- Lead and support a team of contract professionals, providing mentorship, reviewing work products, and facilitating training
- Develop acquisition strategies, write solicitation documents, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts and modifications
- Conduct detailed price/cost analyses, including for hybrid contract types such as FFP, FPIF, and CPAF
- Oversee post-award functions including performance monitoring, invoice review, closeouts, and terminations
- Support the MCC COR program through tracking certifications, assisting with training, and issuing COR designation letters
- Participate in team meetings, support new personnel onboarding, and contribute to internal policy development
Required Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of federal contracting experience, including one year at the GS-15 level or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, finance, law, contracts, etc.)
- Deep understanding of cradle-to-grave contracting processes and FAR application
- Experience supporting complex service procurements and contract administration
- Ability to analyze acquisition challenges and develop tailored solutions
- Skilled in negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- DAWIA or FAC-C Level III certification, or NCMA CFCM/CPCM
