The Role
Join Virtu's dynamic risk team, where you'll play a critical role in safeguarding our multi-business line operations through comprehensive risk monitoring and evaluation. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, trading, and risk management while collaborating with diverse teams across our global organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily trading risk across multiple business lines using proprietary GUIs and risk management systems
- Coordinate cross-functional projects involving onboarding, trade support, relationship management, development, and trading teams
- Oversee business continuity planning initiatives and implementation
- Evaluate and adjust client trading limits on both daily and permanent bases
- Review and enhance risk policies, processes, and procedures to ensure operational excellence
- Collaborate with global counterparts to optimize firmwide risk processes and share best practices
- Support ongoing evaluation and improvement of market access controls and credit/capital control frameworks
- Maintain continuous communication with business units to ensure real-time risk awareness
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in trade support, counterparty risk, or trading risk management
- Strong project management skills with ability to balance daily operational tasks and strategic initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Confluence
- Ability to work on-site in our office environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Equities market knowledge and relevant securities licenses
- SQL and Python programming experience
- Experience with risk management systems and trading platforms
