An Associate Attorney’s main tasks at Flanagan | Bilton are to manage and resolve property valuation appeal cases on behalf of clients by developing analyses, negotiating contracts and agreements, settling claims, and advocating for clients in hearings. Associate Attorneys will work under the supervision of more experienced colleagues. This is an in-office position with office hours of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Associate Attorney Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide legal support
- Review property valuations to identify property tax savings opportunities using the various Income, Sales, and Cost approach analyses
- Manage the appeal processes for assigned clients
- Perform various analyses for clients, such as tax projections and annual budgets, communicate appeal status, and review/discuss client needs
- Present and negotiate appeals with various assessing jurisdictions
- Communicate and present the firm's services to potential clients
- Review and approve invoices
Requirements
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Admission to the State Bar
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong analytical background
- Minimum Cumulative Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Compensation
- Starting Salary: 75,000
- 120 hours of PTO after a 90-day probation period (unused hours are forfeited annually)
