At Medra, our mission is to use AI, robotics, and biology to accelerate life science research, with the ultimate goal of eradicating disease. BizOps at Medra:
The Business Operations role is dynamic, offering intense learning and growth opportunities. You’ll work directly with the Chief of Staff to scale Medra’s processes and turn vision into execution, bringing operational rigor to our most pressing priorities. Responsibilities
- Business Operations: own execution and documentation of day-to-day processes, tackling ad-hoc problems, keeping the office operating smoothly. Help plan events such as happy hours, off-sites, recruiting events, marketing events.
- Finance: own expense management, invoices & receivables, taxes, and financial modeling.
- People Operations: facilitate onboarding, payroll, cap table management, and be a leader who sets the culture at Medra.
- Process Improvement: identify root causes of pain points and streamlining cross-functional workflows and tooling across customer success, hiring, finance, and ops.
- Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives: act as Medra’s “Swiss‑army knife,” scoping and executing on some of the company’s most pressing challenges on an ad-hoc basis.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in strategy consulting, finance, product, or business development is very useful. We are very open to high-slope individuals at the beginning of their professional career.
- Get stuff done: Even though you are juggling a million balls at once, you do what you say you’re going to do, on time, every time. No task is too small for you and you’re ready to do whatever it takes.
- Comfort with ambiguity, lack of structure, and lack of clear guidelines.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Direct, willing to take feedback gracefully, and unafraid of giving feedback openly .
- Adaptive and introspective; willing to learn, teach, lead, and follow.
Bonus points for:
- Experience leading operations at high-growth, early-stage tech companies.
- Experience in applied math, statistics, engineering, the sciences is a huge plus.
- Built internal knowledge bases or no‑code automations that saved colleagues hours per week.
- Has owned financial reporting, taxes, or vendor contracts.
This position is 100% in-person, you must be able to come on-site to our San Francisco office.
