We’re looking for a Principal Front-End Engineer who thrives on the challenge of building interfaces that don't just work—they transform how the world's biggest brands think about creative performance.As a player/coach on our product development team, you'll tackle complex technical problems without established playbooks, architect UI systems that distill massive data into easily understandable UIs, and mentor a hungry team while directly shaping the front-end ecosystem that powers our creative intelligence platform.This highly visible role demands someone who sees technical challenges as opportunities to change the game and believes exceptional engineering can redefine entire industries.
While this position does not have personnel management responsibilities, the principal engineering will be considered one of our team’s key leaders.
What You’ll Do:
- Turn technical and UX designs into smoothly functioning interfaces that delight some of the largest marketers in the world
- Mentor a hungry team of developers to unleash their full potential, via code reviews, clinics, and workshops to elevate front-end craftsmanship
- Work with engineering leadership to align technical vision with business impact, while evaluating promising new technologies for potential use
- Architect and evangelize shared tooling, libraries, and frameworks for scalable, performant UI systems
- Dive into & solve complex code issues, build POCs, debug production problems, and lead by example
- Collaborate with PMs, UX, backend, and devops teams to define requirements, influence roadmaps, and eliminate execution blockers
- Define and uphold best practices around architecture, test coverage, accessibility, code style, and tooling
What You Bring:
- 12+ years professional frontend development, with deep hands‑on expertise in React (or equivalent SPA frameworks); proven leadership in complex, multi-squad engineering initiatives
- Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, rendering pipelines); build tool expertise (TypeScript, ES6+, Webpack, Babel, Vite); CI/CD fluency
- Skilled at optimizing UI performance and accessibility using modern profiling tools and frontend metrics
- Exceptional communicator, able to distill complex trade-offs and drive consensus across teams and senior stakeholders
- Track record of coaching developers, establishing standards, and raising overall team capability
- B2+ oral and written English skills, with experience in distributed global teams working across borders and timezones
Preferred:
- Familiarity with modern client-side performance tools (Lighthouse, Chrome UX), API design patterns, and frontend observability
- Prior role as a player/coach Principal or Staff engineer, with code-first leadership and architectural influence
This role requires occasional travel to our US HQ in NYC.
