Software Development Engineer in Test

About the RoleThe SDET is a detail obsessed individual who will be working hand in hand with the development team, other testers, and key stakeholders to build tests and maintain frameworks for hybrid-mobile, web-based and client-server applications used by well-known companies and their customers across the country.

Key responsibilities
- Define test objectives, create test plans and develop automated test cases/procedures
- Perform regression testing against existing specifications
- Provide clear and concise test results to management and customers
- Innovate and help build new features in the current tools or design, build new and improved automation tools, and maintain QA framework
- Delivers cutting edge test automation solutions that have a direct impact on increasing the quality of the products, while decreasing the time it takes to test them
- Responsible for recognizing and creating awareness of process or quality problems
- Researches and develops an understanding of the marketing and/or industry requirements for the product feature being tested, including how the users use the feature and their performance requirements for the features
- Identifies & proposes QA process improvements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- QA automation with development skills - ability to write from scratch automation scripts
- +5 years of experience Automating iOS and Android test cases
- Must have experience with JavaScript and Appium
- Knowledge of Android Studio, NodeJS, Xcode, Webstorm, and/or Visual Studio
- Knowledge of version control tools, especially Git
- Good understanding of Appium Inspector ad Test IDs
- A problem solver with a keen eye for details and a strong desire to learn
- Self-directed, independent and comfortable in a fast paced, ambiguous and often multi-directional work environments
Extra Credit
- Experience with Selenium and/or SauceLabs
- Experience in creating tests for API's and automating them
- Degree in computer science or related degree/technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with eCommerce and retail solutions and environments

This position requires constant operation of a computer, various software programs and other electronic productivity tools. This position requires prolonged observation of a computer screen.
