This role plays a key part in managing close processes, maintaining internal controls, and supporting cross-functional initiatives. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Director of Accounting and serves as a critical partner in driving operational efficiency and compliance across the organization.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Manage the accounting team’s daily operations, including supervising staff and senior accountants to ensure timely completion of reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reportingReview and approve financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standardsMonitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to ensure smooth operationOversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of trial balances and consolidated financial statementsEnsure all necessary accruals, deferrals, and adjusting entries are recordedMaintain detailed checklists to track the progress of closing tasksDevelop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliancePartner with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Operations, IT, and HR to support budgeting and forecasting with accurate accounting dataEnsure seamless integration of accounting systems with operational workflowsTrain and develop team members by identifying growth opportunities and providing regular feedbackDrive continuous improvement by streamlining processes, automating tasks, and enhancing system capabilitiesEssential Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required and MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of related experience and 2+ years of training experience and skill development of other team members.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Effectively delegate tasks while maintaining oversight of overall team performance.
- Ensure all financial reports are accurate, timely, and comply with applicable accounting standards.
- Proactively address operational inefficiencies or bottlenecks within the department.
- Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Communicate key accounting insights to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated mastery in all MS Office programs.
