Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Recognition & ComplianceEnsure accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with accounting standards and company policies. Review sales contracts to assess implications and provide guidance to stakeholders. Support internal and external audit efforts with appropriate documentation.2. Billing & InvoicingManage daily, monthly, and quarterly billing using the NetSuite 360 billing application. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to customers. Optimize billing processes and systems to reduce errors and delays.
Support cash flow forecasting and payments processing.3. Special / Manual BillingHandle unique billing requests from customers. Communicate directly with customers to understand and implement special invoicing needs.4. Revenue ReportingPrepare and maintain revenue-related financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner.5. General Ledger (GL) AccountingMaintain the accuracy of GL records.
Assist with journal entries and the monthly close process. Support the Senior Accountant with bank reconciliations, American Express reconciliations, and other GL-related tasks.6. Financial Analysis & FP&A SupportPerform in-depth analysis of revenue streams, pricing models, and sales data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Produce regular financial reports with insights and KPIs to support decision-making.7. Process ImprovementIdentify and implement process improvements within the revenue accounting function.
Streamline workflows, adopt best practices, and utilize automation tools to enhance efficiency and scalability.8. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to align on business strategy and contractual terms. Provide revenue-related guidance to ensure financial and operational alignment.9. Financial ControlsEstablish and maintain robust internal controls related to revenue recognition and reporting. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Implement corrective actions as necessary.Qualifications and Skills• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.• Solid understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition standards.• Experience in revenue accounting or a related financial role.• Strong proficiency in financial analysis, data interpretation, and reporting usingspreadsheets and financial systems.• High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate acrossdepartments and present financial data effectively.• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.• Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite and Salesforce is desirable.
