The Job


We are a venture-backed B-Corporation built and run by lawyers. As a company operating in a highly regulated space, we face a fascinating mix of legal challenges: from those common to fast-growing tech companies (data privacy, intellectual property, venture capital) to those unique to our business model (legal ethics, asset-backed financing, public benefits law).We’re looking for a lawyer to join as a founding member of our in-house legal team. You'll work side-by-side with our General Counsel, helping steer high-level strategy and gaining unmatched visibility into the decisions that shape the company.

You'll be deeply embedded across teams, advising company leaders on everything from day-to-day legal issues to long-term strategy—while helping define the culture, systems, and future of Legal at Atticus.This is a rare opportunity to grow into a legal executive role at a high-growth startup that values lawyers not just as risk managers, but as core business partners. Qualifications


Required:

  • You have 5+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm or as in-house counsel.
  • You are a resourceful team player ready to dive into a scrappy startup environment where you will learn quickly and get your hands dirty.
  • You’re an ambitious self-starter. You thrive in ambiguous environments and enjoy a strategic challenge.
  • You combine legal precision with practical, principled problem solving.
  • You have a demonstrated commitment to doing good and helping people.
  • You are a member in good standing in at least one US state bar.

Bonus / Nice-to-Have:

  • You have substantial experience with US privacy/data protection laws.
  • You have managed a wide docket of issues in-house at a high-growth technology company.
  • You have experience with corporate governance.

We anticipate the base salary for this role will be between $140,000 and $175,000 in addition to equity and benefits. The salary at offer will be determined by a number of factors such as candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.

Location


This job is fully remote and we’re committed to empowering everyone with flexibility. Work remotely, and travel to LA (on the company dime) as needed to be with your colleagues —somewhere between quarterly and yearly. We care a lot about building a great culture and we think some interactions need to happen in person, so we put a lot of thought into retreats, offsites, and other ways to gather.
