What You Will Do:


We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to take ownership of a Kubernetes-native application responsible for orchestrating and deploying workloads within the cluster it runs in. You will help lead the development and evolution of a modern, cloud-native platform that integrates a web-based UI/UX, containerized microservices, and a variety of orchestration tools and infrastructure components. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Go, Python, TypeScript, and Kubernetes, and a deep understanding of event-driven systems, cloud-native architecture, and container orchestration.In this role, you’ll collaborate across multiple teams to ensure operational excellence, promote automation and observability, and maintain high standards for documentation and development practices.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead development and lifecycle ownership of Kubernetes-native orchestration platforms
  • Design, implement, and maintain containerized microservices using Go, Python, and Kubernetes
  • Build and enhance web-based frontends using TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Implement and manage GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD and Helm
  • Integrate event-driven architectures and message brokers such as Kafka
  • Containerize and orchestrate services using Docker and RKE2 (or similar platforms)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure integration and system reliability
  • Maintain clear, detailed documentation and ensure adherence to internal development standards
  • Support automation through infrastructure-as-code using tools such as cloud-init or Terraform
  • Contribute to Agile and CI/CD practices across the software development lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications


  • Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Bamboo, Fisheye)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and continuous integration
  • LINUX or UNIX system administration experience
  • Knowledge of SIGINT systems and dataflows
  • Familiarity with Kafka, NiFi, MetalLB, and MinIO in production environments
  • Experience with Rancher Suite (Harvester, Longhorn, KubeVirt)
  • Exposure to AWS services such as EKS, S3, Lambda, and RDS
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and observability tools
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong documentation skills and adherence to internal coding standard

Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • Proficiency in Go (Golang) for backend service development
  • Experience developing modern frontends with TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps workflows
  • Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as RKE2 and Docker
  • Understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven systems and message brokers (e.g., Kafka)
  • Experience working with SQL databases in containerized environments
  • Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with infrastructure provisioning, Ansible CM, and Rancher
  • Strong knowledge of hardware/software integration, cloud-native technologies, and CaaS

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:


  • Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Four (4) additional years of relevant software engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree

Certifications: 


  • Cloud platforms, Kubernetes, or DevOps tools are a plus

Clearance Requirement:


  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance to be considered for this role.
