Our team members work both independently and as team to keep our equipment in top condition by daily deep cleans and preventative maintenance. This position assists in keeping our facility and grounds clean, sanitary and in compliance with all applicable health and sanitation codes to support the production of great artisan bread and delicious café food. This position drives Grand Central Bakery vehicles to various Grand Central Bakery locations if requirements are met.The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, independent and have a mechanical work history.

They will have high performance standards, strong customer orientation and team mentality, and composure under pressure.Location: 21 S. Nevada St., Seattle, WA 98134

Rate of Pay:

This position pays $23.48 per hour.

Schedule:

Full-time, 5 days a week, part-time is negotiable. Hours to be determined. Schedule flexibility and the ability to work weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications and Skills


  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required
  • Maintains food handler’s card – new hires are expected to have a valid card by their first date of work
  • Experience with building and equipment repairs highly preferred
  • Basic math skills required
  • Current Driver License: In order to drive the following requirements must be met - has and maintains a valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license with 5 years of driving experience and a driving record acceptable to Grand Central Bakery, follows policies and procedures in the Driver Safety Manual at all times, must pass a company administered driving test
  • The ability to work independently and efficiently with a high degree of autonomy is required
  • Flexibility and attention to detail to accurately fulfill frequently changing task-lists
  • Candidate should know how to use basic hand tools such as but not limited to tape measure, screwdriver, crescent wrench, hammer, Allen wrench, hand saw, files, chisel, battery drill, electric drill, circular saw, skill saw, band saw, grinder, level, welder, multimeter, digital thermometer, basic electrical repair

Physical requirements include but are not limited to:


  • Working in a building shared with production facilities.
  • Constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat). They work in moderately warm and dusty environments with high level of exposure to water and cleaning chemicals.
  • Walking the equivalent of up to 3 miles per shift. May be called upon to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
