Clarity Partners is seeking a fully remote Outpatient Auditor. This person will be responsible for reviewing outpatient medical records to ensure accurate and compliant documentation and code assignment in line with official coding guidelines. They will provide feedback to providers to support documentation improvement and deliver education on audit findings.
Responsibilities:
- Review patient encounters for accurate professional fee code assignment, including ICD-10-CM diagnoses, CPT procedures, Evaluation and Management (E/M) levels, and modifier usage.
- Perform daily quality audits to ensure code accuracy and compliance with provider documentation, state and federal regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide detailed audit feedback and support references for providers and coders.
- Identify and report documentation trends by provider and deliver targeted education to improve documentation accuracy.
- Respond to coding and documentation questions from providers and coders.
- Communicate directly with site coding management to discuss audit outcomes and educational needs.
- Conduct provider and coder education sessions based on audit findings and identified documentation gaps.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in outpatient professional fee coding.
- Active coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and Evaluation and Management coding.
- Strong understanding of coding compliance, audit standards, and provider documentation guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for education and feedback delivery.
Clarity is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Clinical Documentation Specialist role, the base hourly pay range is $30.00 – $45.00/hr. The range represents a good faith estimate that Clarity reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of posting. Compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
