Tellers.This is more than just a cashier job — it’s your opportunity to become the face of Mukuru in our booths and branches. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, providing world-class service, handling sensitive transactions, keeping your space running smoothly, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities


Keep It Spotless


  • Own your workspace — daily cleaning of your booth and ensuring everything is ready for trade.
  • Complete daily security checks and report any irregularities to your Scheduler.
  • Log and monitor all visitors, including client liaisons and farmer reps.
  • Immediately report suspicious activity.

Transactions Done Right


  • Perform KYC checks and ensure all transactions meet compliance standards.
  • Accurately handle, count, and sort cash – we trust you to keep things balanced.
  • Report suspicious transactions and support AML processes.
  • Safeguard cash, devices, passwords, and float at all times.
  • Manage your cash-ups daily and ensure everything is ready for the next trading day.

Deliver World-Class Service


  • Greet every customer with a smile and a professional attitude.
  • Ensure clients walk away satisfied — correct amounts, quick processing (under 2 minutes!), and friendly service are non-negotiables.
  • Actively manage queues and help clients with any questions.

Grow With Us


  • Take part in regular performance reviews and compliance training.
  • Own your development by participating in all KPI discussions and check-ins.

Requirements


Education


  • Grade 12 / Matric (Essential)
  • Diploma in Accounting, Business, or Computer Science (Essential)
  • Proficient in written and spoken English

Experience


  • 2–3 years’ teller experience in a financial services environment (Essential)
  • Experience with spreadsheets (Advantageous)

Knowledge


  • Foreign exchange, reconciliation, AML and KYC
  • Customer service principles

Skills


  • Excellent computer and telephone skills
  • Strong verbal communication
  • Time management & attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and organisational abilities
