General Summary (Grades I1A-Private & I2A-Private Equity):


Under the direction of the director, Alternative Investments assist in the investment decision-making process, ongoing management, monitoring and evaluation of the alternative investments portfolio.

Summary of Responsibilities (Grades I1A-Private & I2A-Private Equity):


  • Assist in the development of portfolio strategies using internal or external investment approaches to ensure the private equity portfolio exceeds its long-term benchmark. (Grade I1A-Private Equity)
  • Develop portfolio strategies using internal or external investment approaches to ensure the private equity portfolio exceeds its long-term benchmark. (Grade I2A-Private Equity)
  • Analyze prospective investment opportunities, including meeting with principals, conducting due diligence, conferring with outside parties and preparing investment recommendations.
  • Build financial models to assist in portfolio and investment evaluation.
  • Develop relationships with private equity firms and monitor portfolio companies.
  • Perform comprehensive market research and data analysis on private equity managers and regularly update internal private markets database to ensure data integrity.

Summary of Qualifications (Grades I1A-Private & I2A-Private Equity):


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, economics, statistics, finance or related field preferred.
  • Two to three years’ experience in private equity, private credit, co-investments, secondary funds, investment banking, investment research or investment consulting is strongly recommended.       (Grade I1A-Private Equity)
  • Three to six years’ experience in private equity, private credit, co-investments, secondary funds, investment banking, investment research or investment consulting is strongly recommended.      (Grade I2A-Private Equity)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation preferred
  • Ability to research and analyze data and make valid conclusions required.  Strong research, financial modeling, analytical, valuation skills and proficiency. Experience with performance reporting and internal rate of return (IRR) analysis required.
