Global Payroll Specialist

Your Role:


As the Global Payroll Specialist you will own and manage international payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple countries. As the sole payroll professional, this role requires deep expertise in global payroll processing, compliance, and system implementation. As the Specialist you will collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to optimize payroll systems and processes while ensuring seamless execution. 

What You’ll Do:


  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for employees across the U.S., Europe, United Kingdom, and South America, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Process and fund pension payments as needed
  • Work with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers to ensure seamless payroll execution and resolve any discrepancies or issues
  • Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring data integrity, system enhancements, and integration with other HR systems
  • Support the Vice President of People Operations with strategic planning related to payroll, including streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring scalability
  • Drive implementation and integration of payroll processes as part of domestic and international growth strategies
  • Assist with tax filings, reporting, and auditing for global payroll, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements
  • Prepare payroll reports for management, including headcount, cost allocation, and variance analysis, and support with budgeting and forecasting
  • Assists in tax research and implementation of process enhancements to align with evolving tax regulations
  • Provide standard and ad-hoc payroll reports as needed by various internal departments such as accounting, legal, HR
  • Ensure accurate processing of employee benefits and deductions, including retirement plans, bonuses, and other compensatory elements
  • Monitor and stay up to date on global payroll trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to provide recommendations for improving payroll processes
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees, addressing payroll inquiries and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner

Starting Salary is $85,000

What Makes a Great Candidate:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in global payroll management, with experience working in a multi-country payroll environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and tools, with experience using ADP Workforce Now
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and other office tools
  • Strong knowledge of international payroll compliance, taxation, and statutory requirements
  • Must have direct experience processing payroll for US and European countries

  • Experience working in DEEL HRIS

  • Highly tech-savvy, with experience in payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and financial software
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to manage high volumes of data accurately and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and external vendors
