The Opportunity
We are seeking a .NET Application Engineer (GovTech) to support our client’s enterprise IT modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in full-stack development using the Microsoft .NET stack and Azure cloud services. Responsibilities include modernizing legacy systems, implementing secure and scalable APIs, managing high-volume data integrations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies.Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using .NET Core, C#, and ASP.NET MVC
- Implement robust data access layers using SQL/T-SQL and stored procedures
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to enable seamless system communication
- Manage DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Lead or contribute to cloud-based application architecture and migration efforts
- Ensure quality and performance through code reviews and automated testing
- Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and team members to translate requirements into scalable software
- Maintain system documentation and support user acceptance testing
- Participate in Agile development cycles and contribute to planning, retrospectives, and demos
Compensation and Term This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $140,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.Qualifications you
need
A successful candidate has the following experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 6+ years of professional .NET/.NET Core development experience
- 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure SQL, Functions, ADF)
- Proficiency in C#, RESTful API development, and front-end frameworks (e.g., Blazor, MVC)
- 5+ years of SQL Server experience, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and database optimization
- DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Azure DevOps
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices
- Previous experience supporting large-scale public sector applications preferred
