As an Account Direct you will oversee the Account Management team, client accounts, manage relationships, and ensure client satisfaction. You will serve as the main point of contact between the agency and the client, leading account teams and developing strategies to meet client objectives and drive business growth. Overview
As an Account Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing a team of Account Managers while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction, retention, and growth. You will oversee the full client experience, from onboarding to ongoing service delivery, while addressing escalations and identifying opportunities for improvement. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, sales acumen, and exceptional communication skills to effectively guide your team and deliver results for our clients.
Your work as an Account Director has several components:
• Leadership & Team Development - Lead and mentor a team of Account Managers to ensure they meet performance expectations, deliverables, and SLAs. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, providing coaching, training, and regular performance feedback for continuous growth.• Client Experience Management - Oversee and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new clients, maintaining ongoing satisfaction through regular check-ins, proactive support, and escalation management. Strive for consistent improvement in client service delivery and relationships.• Strategic IT Guidance - Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs, offering strategic IT advice and recommending technology solutions that drive business efficiency and performance.
Lead your team to ensure that service delivery aligns with client expectations and agreed-upon service levels.• Sales & Service Expansion - Work closely with the sales team to identify new business opportunities, including upselling and cross-selling services. Use your technical knowledge and experience to help Account Managers identify key opportunities for expanding service offerings.• Process Optimization - Continuously evaluate and improve internal processes, optimizing service delivery, operational efficiency, and cost management to achieve both client and company goals.• Budget & Financial Management - Manage the division’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining high standards of service. Develop strategies for optimizing resource allocation and maintaining profitability.
Our ideal Account Director has the following qualifications:
• Education - bachelor’s degree in business, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.• Experience - A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in account management, sales,and/ or a related leadership role within the IT or MSP industry.• Technical Expertise - Proven technical background gained through experience as a Technical Account Manager or similar role, with a solid understanding of the technology and services offered within the MSP model.• Sales Experience - Sales background with the ability to identify opportunities for service expansion and effectively communicate value propositions to clients.• Leadership & Mentorship - Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills – along with a collaborative mindset are essential for creating an environment of continuous improvement.• Client Relationship Management - Proven ability to build and maintain long-term, trusting client relationships, with exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.• Communication Skills - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write persuasive, clear, and engaging content. The ability to convey complex technical information in an accessible way is key.• Organizational Skills - Strong time-management, multitasking, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
