DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER:  Founded in 1901, Feeser’s, Inc. is a family owned and operated full-line foodservice distributor located in Harrisburg, PA servicing the Mid-Atlantic region.  Feeser’s provides an expansive offering of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to a diverse customer base comprised of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and other institutions. 
SUMMARY:  Feeser’s has immediate part-time job openings for dependable local CDL A and CDL B Delivery Truck Drivers to manually unload/deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations. 

PAYRATES:


  • Class B - $20.00 per hour 
  • Class A - $23.00 per hour  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 


  • Daily Pre and Post trips of equipment. 

  • Keep track of hours of service on mobile ELD.  

  • Unload customer product utilizing a pump jack and hand truck. 

  • Utilize Feeser’s Point of Delivery system to scan customer product during delivery. 

  • Reconcile any product shorts or damages on the customer invoices and the POD system. 

  • Manage invoices, manifests, pick up slips, and COD payments from customers.  

  • Successfully passing Feeser's driving and knowledge proficiency tests.

  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.  

  • Comply with all Feeser’s policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.  

  • High level of professionalism and strong work ethic.  

  • The ability to adjust to sudden changes in customer demands or operational goals.  

  • Detail oriented and accurate. 

  • Strong customer service skills. 

PHYSICAL / COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS:


  • The ability to repeatedly climb in and out of a truck  

  • Conduct periodic spot checks of the vehicle without accommodation. 

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up-to to 50 lbs., and lift safely and repetitively with or without accommodations. 

  • Must be able to operate handcart utilizing delivery ramps and lift gates. 

  • Effectively operate independently with minimal supervision. 

  • Effectively communicate via mobile messaging system. 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once. 

  • Work in a fast-paced distribution environment. 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:  


  • A valid CDL Class A or B. 

  • A high level of comfort with backing and operating heavy machinery. 

  • Recent driving school graduates welcome.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 


  • Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.  

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment up to 100 pounds.  

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.  

  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.  

  • Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust.    

  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.  

  • Operating machinery and/or power tools / Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.  

  • Must be able to work in varying temperature environments to include seasonal heat, seasonal cold and refrigerated environments. 

  • Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.  

  • Noisy environments, hazardous conditions, poor ventilation. 

  • Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust.
