Role Overview:
As the Assistant Restaurant Manager at Independent Food Company, you will play a key leadership role in supporting day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining brand standards, and driving team performance. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to implement operational strategies and uphold the quality, service, and atmosphere that define our unique homegrown concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
- Support the Restaurant Manager in managing all front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations.
- Ensure daily opening and closing procedures are followed efficiently.
- Maintain product quality, presentation, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain for accurate stock ordering.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, health regulations, and local authority requirements.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and motivate restaurant staff to deliver a high-performance culture.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members.
- Conduct regular briefings and assist in evaluating team performance and productivity.
- Foster a positive, engaging, and respectful workplace aligned with company values.
Guest Experience
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints in a professional and solution-oriented manner.
- Monitor service flow and take action to resolve issues proactively.
- Uphold the ambiance, cleanliness, and comfort of the dining environment.
Financial Contribution
- Assist in controlling operational costs, minimizing wastage, and optimizing labor scheduling.
- Support the Restaurant Manager in meeting revenue targets and profitability goals.
- Participate in sales initiatives, promotions, and upselling techniques to enhance business performance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and customer service best practices.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as per operational needs.
