Network Engineer – Operations

Five9 provides businesses with cloud contact center software that is reliable, secure, compliant and scalable, which is designed to create exceptional customer experiences, increase agent productivity and deliver tangible business results.To complement our rapid growth, we are actively sourcing for a Network Engineer to operate in a 24/7 Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment maintaining IP Networking components in a production setting. In this role you will:
- Assist customers and field personnel in network activations for customers
- Participate in projects for Network Operation improvements
- Review and analyze history of network related incidents and perform preventive measures
- Troubleshoot network related issues and communicate with customers
- Implement best security practices
- Assist in managing network service providers and equipment
- Provide capacity analysis and planning
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with external customers regularly to ensure smooth network activations and to troubleshoot any network connectivity related issues; May require some travel to customer site for escalated issues (10% or less)
- Partner closely with Network Architects and Engineers to improve data-center and corporate network environments
- Initiate multiple projects for Network Operation improvements
- Partner with internal business units to best understand the organization's needs and continuously improve and apply standards for operational excellence
- Review, analyze and execute network change requests
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in Medium to large networks, IP Routing, Switching, and Security principles.
- Demonstrate knowledge of platform operating systems (router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols) MPLS, OSPF, and BGP, and how they interact with the network
- Demonstrated operational success with an exceptionally strong data-driven analytical approach towards solving complex challenges
- Telecommunications experience - VoIP, RTP, SIP peering/trunking and SBC is a huge plus
- Experience with implementations of solutions involving large data centers, interoffice routing plans, site2site VPNs, FWs, IPSec, monitoring, etc. is a plus
- Hands-on skills for Cisco IOS is required, IOS-XR and Nexus OS is preferred, connect lab equipment, proof of concept; Documenting solutions with diagrams and proper description is required
- Knowledge and experience in Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k, Palo Alto Network firewalls, ASR 1000 and 9000 Routers, Catalyst Switches and Routers, SSL-VPN.
- Experience with incident response, information assurance, computer security best practices, system hardening, vulnerability management, antivirus, SIEM, firewalls, IPS/IDS monitoring, and techniques for analyzing TCP/IP network traffic and event logs
- Knowledge of Linux network functions; Saas/Cloud-based software environment a plus, but not required
- Excellent communications, both oral and written
