Senior Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer

Edoxx Technical Services LLC is a US Company based in Houston, Texas, with access to +350 highly experienced and advanced Engineers and Technicians delivering know-how and expertise in Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation engineering. Other related fields such as Projects Control, QA/QC Inspection, 3D Geometrical and Intelligent Modeling, and Drafting are also available.
The Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer will work on site with the Denver, CO Structural Engineering team and will provide expert I&C engineering services to Worley and its customers. In this role, you will lead technical efforts, oversee project execution, and ensure quality and compliance within the I&C discipline. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, efficiency, and excellence across medium and large-sized projects while mentoring and guiding the I&C team.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and provide technical direction to engineers and designers in executing the I&C scope of work on medium and large projects.
  • Estimate required manhours, prioritize tasks effectively, assign work per project schedules, and communicate updates to project management.
  • Verify the completeness and quality of work performed, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project management and discipline managers to ensure alignment with Worley’s standard practices and procedures.
  • Perform routine and complex engineering, design, analysis, and technical tasks within the I&C discipline utilizing current technology, standards, and software.
  • Prepare and review key engineering deliverables, including control narratives, cause & effect documents, equipment layouts, equipment lists, sizing calculations, schematics, equipment specifications, data sheets, requisitions, and technical bid analyses.
  • Coordinate with and review design aspects related to the I&C scope.
  • Work independently on special assignments or collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Implement company and client standards and procedures, while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Maintain a high-quality design threshold through adherence to established quality procedures.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with agreed codes and practices, contract specifications, schedules, budgets, and safety standards.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development support to junior engineers and designers.

Qualifications & Skillset


Technical & Industry Experience:


  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in instrumentation and controls engineering.
  • Strong understanding of protective devices and coordination techniques.
  • Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEC, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations related to instrumentation and control systems.
  • Familiarity with energy industry instrumentation and controls, including analyzers, control valves, safety valves, pressure and temperature indicating devices, network architecture, control systems, and PLCs.
  • Strong client interface skills with the ability to understand and address client needs.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with engineers and designers.
  • Experience participating in Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimates.
  • Ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and controls construction techniques, installation practices, and plant start-up requirements.

Education & Certification Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado (required); California (preferred). Or any state.  If the candidate is in the process of obtaining PE, that is fine as well.
