JOB SUMMARY
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to effectively manage all aspects of the supply chain, manage purchasing, receiving and inventory personnel, while ensuring conformance to aerospace regulatory requirements and maintain budgetary goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
•Supplier oversight and management•Ensure supply chain is meeting delivery, quality and regulatory requirements Ensure purchasing processes are optimized to meet delivery, quality and regulatory requirements•Manage supplier approvals and supplier requirements•Monitor forecasts, supplier loading and schedules to assure deliveries can be met•Support and lead internal/external audits to ensure and verify compliance to applicable requirements.•Negotiate pricing to achieve the best value and delivery•Identify new qualified suppliers•Analyze expenses and inventory levels to reduce costs and achieve a balanced inventory.•Create and maintain purchasing, receiving and inventory procedures•Manage purchased parts database to ensure requirements are accurately defined•Identify and mitigate risks with existing and new suppliers
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for direct supervision of department employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Proficient in Microsoft Office •Advanced experience in Excel and proficient in using VLOOKUP formulas and creating charts and pivot tables•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written •Knowledge or experience working in an inclusive work environment, particularly those persons with disabilities•Attention to detail•Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and variety in the workplace•Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges•Ability to identify, organize, estimate and recognize differences or similarities•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers •Ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and communication styles•Ability to provide direction and guidance•Team oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS
•Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English. •Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•High School Diploma or GED•Associates Degree (A.A.) from two-year college or university or five years related experience and/or training•Supervisory or lead experience •1-2 years of Aerospace experience •1-2 years of Purchasing experience •1-2 years’ experience in working with an MRP system
