HashiCorp is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join the Secure Lifecycle Management product marketing team to lead go-to-market initiatives for Vault. Vault provides organizations with identity-based security to automatically authenticate and authorize access to secrets and other sensitive data. In this role, you will develop compelling messaging and positioning in partnership with marketing, sales, and R&D leadership. You'll create foundational marketing assets that effectively communicate Vault's value proposition, drive product evangelism and adoption across all marketing channels, and use data-driven insights to optimize campaigns and meet growth targets.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)


  • Product launches — plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
  • Product positioning and messaging — Develop and iterate positioning and messaging anchored on customer aspirations, product truth, and competitive reality for Vault and the Secure Lifecycle Management portfolio.
  • Market research — Be an expert on our buyers, how they buy, and their buying criteria; understand the market landscape and how to position the product competitively.  Serve as the voice of the customer to internal product-focused teams to reinforce solving customer challenges.
  • Marketing campaigns — Partner with the demand generation team to create Vault campaigns, generating interest in our solutions and building pipeline.
  • Content creation — Use your domain knowledge, technical expertise, and understanding of our target personas to build the content that best explains the business value of our commercial Vault offerings.
  • Sales enablement — Create and maintain content to educate our sales team and the partner community on how best to position Vault for long-term value creation.
  • Cross-team collaboration — Work with the product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure your initiatives are effective and driving results for the company. 

What you’ll need (basic qualifications)


  • 8+ years of software product marketing experience
  • Familiarity with the cloud, infrastructure, security, IT operations, and/or developer tool domains
  • Deep customer focus and curiosity
  • Self-starter with the ability to analyze ambiguous situations, develop a plan, execute, and iterate
  • Proven history of successful collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and R&D teams
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Some travel required

Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:$178,500—$210,000 USDThe base pay range for this role in California (excluding SF Bay Area), New York (excluding NYC), Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, Washington D.C., or Maryland is:$163,600—$192,500 USDThe base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro), Illinois, Minnesota, or Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:$148,800—$175,000 USD“HashiCorp is an IBM subsidiary which has been acquired by IBM and will be integrated into the IBM organization.
