As we continue to expand our external client-facing Learning Solutions products, we are seeking a results-driven, independent, and highly accountable Senior Research Analyst to elevate our learning products to the next level. In this role, you will develop high-quality, research-driven learning products (such as learning guides, infographics, and hands-on tools) that empower HR professionals and leaders to build their competencies, confidence, and expertise.To set you up for success, you’ll start off with a comprehensive onboarding program.

You’ll gain exposure to a wide variety of leadership & HR behaviors, diving into different areas every couple of months and interviewing experts and practitioners alike. Over time, you’ll also gain exposure to a variety of clients across multiple industries and even countries. You’ll also be able to access our targeted L&D offerings including internal and external training; a “buy a book” program; and even a scholarship program. Position Purpose:


The Learning Solutions Senior Research Analyst is part of a team that creates and delivers client-driven, behavioral-based, practical research and learning content to help HR professionals & people leaders grow and develop in their careers.

As a Senior Learning Solutions Research Analyst, you will:


  • Work independently to develop structured research outputs that leverage our best practice research process and methodologies (with the support of a project lead and content review team). This research will inform our Learning Solutions products and result in learning guides, tools, and infographics that outline advice and tactical actions to develop a competency or skillset.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to identify best practices in a subject area, develop logical flow around unstructured topics, and create/integrate memorable insights and quotes into practical resources.
  • Participate in ongoing peer review to give and receive constructive feedback to continuously improve the quality of research and learning content.
  • Partner with Instructional Designers on how best to integrate insights from research into learning experiences.
  • Contribute to a research agenda that meets the needs of members and learners by developing a deep understanding of what competencies McLean & Company members and learners require to be successful HR professionals & people leaders.
  • Advise clients on the development and implementation of L&D strategies, programs, and learning content.

Essential Skills/Education:


  • 2+ years of relevant internal, industry, or consulting experience
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills to gather content from credible sources, explore unique angles, and identify themes.
  • Intermediate critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop insights and bring complex concepts together to create a unique point of view.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
  • Orientation towards independent work, effectively managing structured project milestones and competing priorities, balanced with a sense of teamwork and collaboration towards shared departmental or organizational goals. 
  • Structured, logical thinking processes and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven interpersonal and collaboration skills, open to feedback.
  • Basic presentation skills, with the desire and ability to develop strong facilitation and advisory call skills.
  • Intellectually curious about the effect of learning, leadership & HR on the business landscape, with a passion for continuous learning.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills, as you will be working in these daily.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, flexible, rapidly changing work environment.
  • Comfortable speaking with clients and other experts in an investigative capacity.

Desirable:


  • A specialized degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Business, Psychology, Human Resources, Adult Education or Communications.
  • Demonstrated experience with formal research methodologies and a track record of publishing in academic journals, industry publications, or internal communications or reports.
  • CPTD or similar HR / training professional designation in progress is an asset.
