POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Business Analyst I supports the design and implementation of IT systems and processes for Group Event Management travel registration websites. This role assists in gathering and documenting business requirements, performing basic data analysis, testing software functionality, and supporting system operations. The Business Analyst I works under the guidance of more senior analysts and developers, contributing to the delivery of user-friendly, reliable solutions for internal and external clients.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
- Assist in documenting business and system requirements using clear, non-technical language.
- Participate in testing websites and processes; log issues and provide feedback.
- Support data extraction and reporting using tools like Microsoft Access or SQL Server.
- Help troubleshoot basic website and processing issues.
- Learn and apply ITA Group project management principles.
- Collaborate with team members on scope definition and timeline expectations.
- Maintain documentation for processes and specifications.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to build platform knowledge.
- Support the deployment of system releases and updates.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in a business analyst, QA, or technical support role preferred.
- Familiarity with client-server and web-based applications.
- Basic understanding of relational databases and data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn and grow under mentorship.
- Ability to travel occasionally (up to one 3-day trip per quarter).
- Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
