Essential Functions
The Career and technical education (CTE) teacher will provide training in subjects such as auto repair, cosmetology, and culinary arts. The CTE teacher will provide instruction on vocational and technical content to give students the skills and knowledge necessary to enter an occupation.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver classroom lessons, workshops, and labs.
- Create exams, quizzes, and assignments.
- Supervise and facilitate student learning and hands-on practice.
- Monitor student progress.
- Share information with students, parents, other teachers, and the administration.
- Stay apprised on current educational and safety standards for various industries and equipment.
- Manage the classroom by enforcing the rules and teaching safety procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification or CTE Teacher Certification Preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in subject area and classroom teaching experience in an urban school setting
- Documented experience using data-driven instruction to achieve significant student gains
- Maintain an organized classroom and be an effective planner.
- Must be flexible in teaching methods.
- Ability to be patient and positive.
