Special Requirements


  • U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of Payroll Manager experience in a federal contracting or technology-driven environment.
  • Must have experience with Unanet or Paylocity.
  • Ability to travel to Reston, VA office 2x per week.

The Gist…


Amivero is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to execute cradle-to-grave Payroll duties for 150+ employees using Unanet and Paylocity. This role will be responsible for managing timesheets, executing payroll, managing tax reporting/reconciliation, and journal entries related to payroll. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll systems, tax compliance, and financial reporting, and will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Other duties might include (but are not limited to) corporate credit card reconciliation and daily customer payments.

 

What Your Day Might Include…


  •  Setup new hires and handle final payout estimates for separations. 
  • Manage timesheet statuses and approvals in Unanet. 
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for 150+ salaried and hourly employees through Unanet and Paylocity, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and federal, state, and local government regulations. 
  • Reconcile Unanet labor cost to Paylocity with each Payroll. 
  • Process out-of-cycle payrolls as needed. 
  • Prepare and record payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts. 
  • Manage and reconcile cash receipts and general ledger entries related to payroll and auto-deductions. 
  • Support month-, quarter-, and year-end close processes related to payroll and taxes.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure alignment on financial reporting and compliance. 
  • Perform additional duties that support Accounting, as assigned, ensuring no conflict with core responsibilities. 

Requirements

You’ll Bring These Qualifications…


  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a minimum of 3 years of related payroll experience in a federal contracting or technology-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with Unanet ERP and Paylocity.
  • Familiarity with MS Office to include strong knowledge of Excel. 
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines. 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
